Postal Exam 473-E Part B (Forms Completion): Tips for Success
Part B of the postal test 473-e is called Forms Completion. This portion of the 473 seeks to test your ability to identify the information needed to complete forms which you will regularly encounter in your job as a postal worker. In this test, you will be presented with forms that are actually used by the United States Postal Service. Certain boxes or blanks within a form is labeled with a number or a number and letter combination (e.g. 5, 5b) and you will be asked to answer multiple-choice type questions about the form given and how it should be completed.
The good thing about Part B is that it is not a right minus wrong test. That means that there is no penalty for guessing, unlike Parts A and C of the 473-e. Thus, you will be better off if you answer all the items even if you have to guess them. Since there are four choices, you have a 25 percent chance of getting a right answer. You can increase your odds to 50 percent by eliminating obviously wrong answers and making what is known as an “educated guess.”
To help you succeed in Part B, here are some more guidelines to follow:
You might also increase your chances of getting a high score in this test if you take the time to go to your local post office and get a copy of postal forms. Be sure to ask the Postmaster or any postal worker kindly. Study them so you will increase your confidence level and get a high score in this part of the postal exam 473-e.
